Nano Banana Pro vs Nano Banana 2 — which to prompt?

Use Nano Banana Pro for photo-realistic final images and precision edits. Use Nano Banana 2 for fast iteration on concept boards, storyboards, and social post visuals. Prompt syntax is the same.

How do I prompt Nano Banana for an edit (inpainting)?

Upload the existing image and describe only what should change: 'change the sky to sunset', 'remove the person in the background', 'add a red hat to the subject'. Nano Banana preserves everything else by default.

Example of a strong Nano Banana Pro prompt?

Example (generation): 'Product photograph of a matte-black coffee cup on a white marble countertop, soft overhead studio light, light steam rising, shallow depth of field, 3:4 portrait aspect, e-commerce hero shot.' Example (edit): 'Change the background to a sunlit kitchen with blurred plants, keep the cup exactly the same.'

Can I prompt for style transfer?

Yes. Provide a reference image and ask Nano Banana Pro to 'apply the style of the reference to the subject image, preserving subject identity'. Works well for brand-consistent visuals.
