Question 1

Nano Banana Pro vs Nano Banana 2 — what's the difference?

Accepted Answer

Nano Banana Pro (Google, late 2025) is the high-fidelity tier — photo-realistic image generation and precision editing (inpainting, outpainting, style transfer). Nano Banana 2 is the fast tier — optimized for rapid iteration and bulk generation at lower cost.

Question 2

Which is cheaper?

Accepted Answer

Nano Banana 2 is roughly half the price of Pro per image at public rates (~$0.08 vs ~$0.15). Inside Tab both are bundled into plan credits.

Question 3

Do both support image-to-image editing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both tiers accept up to 14 reference images and perform prompt-guided edits to existing photos. Nano Banana Pro's editing precision is noticeably stronger for product shots, faces, and high-fidelity work; Nano Banana 2 is sufficient for concept iteration.

Question 4

When should I pick Nano Banana 2 over Pro?

Accepted Answer

Concept iteration, thumbnail variants, moodboards, social-post testing — anywhere you're generating many variants fast. Switch to Pro for product photography, brand visuals, and any final hero image that will be published.

Question 5

Can I start with Nano Banana 2 and upgrade to Pro?

Accepted Answer

Yes — a common Tab pattern. Generate 20 variants with Nano Banana 2, pick the winner, then regenerate the hero image with Nano Banana Pro. Your prompt and reference images carry over.
